This Junior Broken doe is getting close to one hundred Facebook likes! This little does is really catching my eyes. At seven weeks old, I feel she is filling out nicely. What do you think? More hopeful brokens to come soon! Courtney's Big Mamma is expecting soon! I know we are ready to see what Calvert's Zinger X Courtney's Big Mamma throw!!

Genetics:
One of the most important things to learn about when raising any type of animals. Today or next week I am to give a presentation on Basic Rabbit genetics, I'll post a lesson type thing on it later if all goes well.

TGPRBA and WCRBA double shows:
We did fairly well this weekend. To New Castle we took three Jr. Black bucks, one Broken Sr. Doe, two Red Jr. Does, and one Broken Jr. Buck. And we took away Best Black in show A and Best Opposite Black in show B. To Washington we took two Black Jr. Bucks, one Broken Sr. Doe, one White Jr. Buck, and two White Jr. Does, all of the rabbit placed on the top three of their classes at least once this weekend.

New Spots/Spot Zealands?
Turns out about a month ago our Ryan's Chocolate Tom Jr. got into the cage with Megan one of my White Sr. Does. TJ is an English Spot and Megan is a New Zealand. Megan had 5 kits today. Four of the English Spots look market pretty well and one of them seems to be solid. This is a bitter sweet mistake. On the bright side we will have really cute kits with their eyes open here in about a week, I will have to post pictures of this new experience. :)

Greene County Fair:
Our rabbits did fairly well at the rabbit show at the Greene County Fair Tuesday. We showed eleven rabbits this year, one Black Sr. Doe, Broken Sr. Doe, Red Sr. Buck, Red Sr. Doe, two White Jr. Does, White Jr. Buck, two White Sr. Does, and a white Sr. Buck. We got best black, best broken, first place Red Sr. Doe, Second Place Red Sr. Buck, Third and second place White Jr. Doe, and a third place in showmanship with a score of 97/100. We showed our pet English Spot Chocolate Jr. Buck also, he was second place Chocolate Jr. Buck. We all feel we could have done better this year at the fair, but we will do better next year. Our hard work will pay off. We bred a Red doe to a white buck last week, and we are breeding a broken red doe to a red buck this week, next week we will breed our black doe and our white doe. Hoping to get a barn full of B.O.V material rabbits. I am so overjoyed that we have two Red kits and a Broken Red kit currently in the barn. I am so ready for the Fall show season. This is going to be great!
