Now, we are going to talk about ear mites. You have probably heard of cats or dogs having ear mites, yes rabbits can get them too, sometimes easier than a cat or dog. Below is what a clear, healthy, rabbit ear should look like:
So treating ear mites is really easy, you can go to your Vet. and ask for a ear mite medicine for rabbits. Or you can go to your local pet supply store and use that. And there is a home remedy for ear mites. Use vegetable oil on a Q-tip coat the ear 3 times and do this 2 times a day for 7 days. I have not used this home remedy, but I have heard that the medicine is easier and quicker and more effective. Plus, advice from a Vet. is the best you can get.
Some tips on treatment:
-> always read the label before you treat the rabbit. ( make sure it is safe for rabbits to use, treat the full recommend dose. etc.)
-> Check all other rabbits for ear mites, just make sure it has not spread to other rabbits
-> make sure the medicine is not over due
