Tattooing Rabbits:

Yes, you can tattoo rabbits, not the kind of tattoo that first came to mind. Tattooing rabbits is the most current way of identifying a rabbit. To show a rabbit it must have a tattoo. Tattooing is used to:
-> identify the rabbit
-> help you keep good records on the rabbits
-> for showing porous
-> to tell a story of the rabbits parents
-> breeding records and sale records
As you can see the list goes on and on and on. Tattooing is simple to do you can even do it your self if you wish.

What you need:

-> a tattoo set made for rabbits ( they are every where, check your local feed store or search the web)

-> cotton balls

-> a paper towel or baby wipe

-> tattoo ink ( if not in the set )

-> and old towel

-> an extra person to help hold the rabbit down

-> a anti bacterial seal like Neosporin or Bag Balm

OK now comes the hard part, clean out both of the rabbits ears with the wet paper towel or baby wipe. Hold the rabbit to where the left ear is facing you, the rabbits left not yours and clamp if you have the clamp tattoo set. Yes, the rabbit may jump or run ot squeal , but if you hold the rabbit down he will not get hurt. Now take a look in the rabbits ear you should see the small dots from the clamp tattoo set. That means you left a good mark. Now you should take the ink and paint it over the dots in the ear. Put on the antibactiral seal then wipe the ear down with the baby wipe of wet paper towel. Don't worry about all of the extra ink in the fur and around the ear, this will come off soon, the tattoo will stay forever. You will see some rabbits have different ears than others, after you do a few tattoos you will learn the pressure you need to put on the ear. Now you can do tattoos!
