Going to a show:

Who is interested in going to a rabbit show? Don't worry showing rabbits is fun, even if you don't win you will learn something new every time! Showing rabbits is fun, but you must have patince, and a good atitude. People like to compete with others who have a good atitude. I admit I'm a little competive, but I don't bad mouth anyone about their rabbits. No one else should either. Anyways, going to a rabbit show is a fun way to learn more about a genral rabbit or your breed.

What you need for a show:

- The rabbits you plan to show-> if it is your first time showing take only a few
- entry fee-> what you have to pay to show your rabbits, this helps have future shows
- A pen or pencil
- Snacks or money for snacks
- Carpet square
- Brushes for your rabbit
- Bunny money -> if you plan to buy a rabbit, they can get expensive
- Something to pass the time like a book or card game
- Chairs

There are two kinds of shows, regular shows and double shows. There are two age groups to show your rabbits, open which are exhibiotrs 18 and up. And youth which are exhibiotrs 18 and under. Anyone can show open, but only youth can show in youth. Double shows are a real bargin, even if you have to pay and extra entery fee, you get a secound opion. Like you may get DQ in show A, the first show. Or you mat get B.O.B in show B, every judge has a different opion. You are allowed to groom your rabbit, you are allowed to sell your rabbit(s), you are allowed to buy rabbit(s). But there is no breeding allowed. There is a such thing as cheating at a rabbit show, if you are caught cheating at a show, you will be asked to take ALL of your rabbits home and leave the show ring, And shows don't offer refunds. Here are the A.R.B.A offical rules.
I know the rules where a long list, but the A.R.BA tries to make it fair for everyone, and they do. As soon as you are ready to show rabbits, find a show local to you. You can just come and see whats it is like or show rabbits yourself. This is the A.R.B.A show search, I use this tool myself. To use it just type in your state! Easy enough!
Now when you come to a show, take your rabbits out of the car, and find a place to sit for the day. And unload the rest of your stuff, once that is done, find the entry table( if you are showing). And sign up if you are youth or open and if you are showing show A or show B or both. Then you put each rabbit you are showing on a big sheet of paper that is either yellow or white. The people at the table will help you, then you pay the entry fee. You will get a comment card for each rabbit you will fill out the ear number, your name and the show ( A or B). And circle the sex and class of the rabbit, again people will help you out. Once you are done with that place the comment cards into the basket, and get ready. Walk around and find out where your breed is being judged, this will prepare you. It is best to arrive early to a show to walk around and see the rabbits for sale and such. You will have fun and meet new people!
