As you know the Greene County fair is coming up ( Aug. 4- 10). But, everyone should be considered about bio security. Here's a true story, there was a show in WV, about a month ago. ( not sure where it was because I did not show there), anyways someone had a sick rabbit at the show, It was a serious disease that was incurable for rabbits, no one knew about the sick rabbit, until people took there rabbits home and they started dying. Then the person who had the sick rabbit found out, the next day after doing a nersopy it was too late. See this can happen to anyone at anytime, and you should take it seriously. Although you can take easy precautions at home.
- Only breed and show clean healthy rabbits
- Disinfect all feed cups, and water bottles before and after you take them to the fair or show
- Deworm your rabbits before and after the fair
- Make sure you keep everything clean even your cloths and car or truck -> if necessary
- And if you think something is wrong with your rabbit after the show or fair don't be afraid to take him to the Vet.
- An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
